Deposits and Advance Payments

Elizabeth Waters Hall

Deposits are a required part of the legal transaction for a University Residence Halls contract. The deposit along with a signed contract means that you have entered into a legally binding agreement with the Division of University Housing.

Review the information below for the term you were admitted for further information about the deposit.

University Residence Halls Contract deposits are a separate and different payment than the Admissions enrollment deposit.

Note: Advance Payment information is in the Academic Year 2010-11 section.

Academic Year 2010-11

Contracts for Academic year 2010-11 will either require a $50 or $300 deposit based on the date when the contract is first sent. Contracts sent in March usually start asking for the full $300.

  • If your contract required an initial $50 deposit, you will be asked to pay the $250 Advance Payment by May 3, 2010.
  • If your contract required an initial $300 deposit, this will include the $250 Advance Payment.
     Is my deposit refundable?

You will want to review our 2010-11 Cancellation Policy which specifies the criteria that must be met for a refund of any deposit.

     What is the Advance Payment?

The $250 Advance Payment is required from all students under contract with the University Residence Halls who only paid a $50 deposit, including those who have applied for financial aid. The Advance Payment is due by May 3, 2010.

Spring Semester 2010

Spring Semester contracts require a $300 deposit which is applied to the last quarterly bill that is sent in February. Students who cancel a Spring Semester contract due to non-attendance should review our 2009-10 Cancellation Policy

Summer Session 2010

Your deposit/payment amount due will appear on your Summer Session contract and the amount covers all charges for the Summer Sessions you selected on your application. Students who cancel a Summer Session contract due to non-attendance should review our Summer 2010 Cancellation Policy (available March 2010).
