How to Apply

To apply for a University Houses apartment, you may apply online, or you may download and print a copy of the application (a PDF file), fill it out, and mail it to:

To request a printed application, write to the address above or call 608/262-3407 (or FAX 608/265-5302). On the application, you will be required to provide eligibility information regarding your marital/domestic partnership status, university affiliation, and the number of legal dependents who will be residing with you. Your lease may be terminated at any time if this information is determined to be incorrect at the time your lease was signed. A deposit is not required at the time you submit your application. Applications may be submitted at any time.

Should I sign the lease?
Please read through this checklist to determine if you should accept this offer and sign a lease with University Apartments.

  • Are you able to commit to paying rent on the date your lease begins?
  • Are you able to send a deposit ($300) at this time?
  • Have you received your visa (if applicable)?
  • Has your academic department or sponsor completed arrangements for your appointment?

If you answer "NO" to any of these questions, you may wish to resolve that issue before signing a lease with University Apartments.

Once you sign a lease, you are obligated to pay a minimum of 90 days rent, even if you are unable to attend the University.
